Prensal (also known as Moll) is a white grape variety native to the island of Mallorca, in Spain's Balearic Islands. It is the most planted white grape on the island and a key component in many DO Mallorca wines, appearing in both varietal wines and blends. The vines are well-suited to the Mediterranean climate, thriving in the island's calcareous soils and benefiting from coastal breezes. Prensal typically yields wines that are light to medium-bodied, with moderate acidity and a soft, rounded texture. Its aromatic profile features delicate floral notes alongside white fruit such as pear, apple, and ripe stone fruit, often complemented by citrus peel and subtle herbal or mineral nuances, especially in wines from coastal vineyards.
